About our Club | |||||
|
Our club was established in 1978 and represents a cross section of the community. It was amongst the earliest of clubs to have equal gender membership. | |||||
The current membership is 20. Our activities are shaped and driven by the needs and demands of rural economy and living.We see our role in this community as that of providing, improving and maintaining community facilities. Fundraising activities include providing for people visiting either by train or attending events we organise, for example train-barn dances, barbecues and other catering. We play a suporting role in many events happening in Middlemarch, for example the Easter Show, the recent Otago-Southland150th 3-day event, Gold Field's cavalcade, weddings, family reunions, the Southern Harley Davidson convention and New Year Eve celebration. On of our more unusual upcoming projects is chaff cutting. |
