Unveiling of a commemorative plaque at Clyde railhead by Nora Calvert, original Rail Trail benefactor.
Start of the inaugural Otago Central Rail Trail Duathlon, a running and cycling race over two days from Clyde to Middlemarch, with an overnight stop at Ranfurly.

Governor-General, Sir Michael Hardie Boys will be hosted by DOC and the OCRT Trust during a tour of the Rail Trail. |

Barn Dance at Ranfurly Stadium for visitors, locals and race competitors. Tickets $15 per person. Live music by the Pog 'n' Scroggin Bush Band with a light supper provided. |

Hyde to Middlemarch Horse Enduro - An endurance race for horse and rider along the section of Rail Trail from Hyde Station to Middlemarch Station.

Ranfurly Gala Day with food and craft stalls and live entertainment by Pog 'n' Scroggin Bush Band. |

Official speeches from the Ranfurly Railway Station platform, and official opening of the Rail Trail and plaque unveiling by the Governor-General. |

Day Two of the Rail Trail Duathlon starts on the street in front of the Ranfurly Railway Station.

Entertainment in the Middlemarch Railway Reserve: Calder Prescott Jazz Quartet, refreshments available, activities for children, hotel open. |

Governor-General arrives by stage coach via the Otago Rail Trail and jigger to unveil a commemorative plaque at Middlemarch.
